I spent a month studying in Italy. We stayed in a small town in Tuscany during the week and would travel to different cities every weekend. It was great because I knew almost nothing about Italian culture at the start of the trip, but by the end of that month I loved everything about it!

I got a pair of scissors as a high school graduation gift from one of my mother’s friends. I remember thinking that was such an odd gift to give a teenage girl. As it turns out they were one of the BEST gifts I ever received! I still have them—over 20 years later—and they are still as good as the day I got them!
